1.Living on campus

Create your home at University of Detroit Mercy in one of our three residence halls. Living on campus gives you opportunities that can make your college experience more memorable and successful as you live among the friends.

1) Holden Hall

Holden Hall is a co-ed dormitory ready to accommodate up to 140 residents of different backgrounds, cultures and origins. It is a traditional residence hall with newly renovated community bathrooms and double rooms off a common corridor.

2) The Quads Complex

The Quads consists of four, 4-story residence halls connected at the basement level to the Quads Commons building. The Quads can house about 440 students and houses Detroit Mercy’s upperclassman residents.

3)Shiple Hall

Shiple Hall is located on the southeast corner of the campus. The seven-story building houses first-year students and the First Year Experience (FYE) program.

2. University Recreation

University Recreation offers a variety of fitness and recreational programs designed to positively impact students and contribute to the health and well-being of the Detroit Mercy community.

3. Where to eat

Whether it’s an all-you-can-eat meal at the Titan Dining Room, a fresh coffee at Ground Coffeehaus, or a smoothie after a workout at the Student Fitness Center, finding food and refreshments on our three campuses is quick and easy.

1) Titan Dining Room (TDR)

The main dining location for students is located in the Student Union on the second floor. It is an all-you-care-to-eat location that offers our fresh and health signature concepts for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus brunch on the weekends.

2) The Loft

The Student Union is also home to the Loft. Open weekdays, the Loft features J. Clark’s Grille, which is known for its wide range of flavorful and creative burgers and other student favorites like chicken strips, mozzarellas sticks and wings, along with Up for Grabs items including sandwiches, salads, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit and many other fresh, convenient items.

3) Ground Coffeehaus

Grounds Coffeehaus is a student-run and managed coffeehouse located in the basement of the Student Union.

4) Tommy’s Smoothies & Snacks

Located in the Fitness Center, Tommy's offers healthy snacking. Tommy's features more than 10 flavors of smoothies and has a number of supplements to add to them, the first is included and each additional is 50 cents.

5)CorktownCafé on Corktown Campus

Corktown Café is located on the second floor of the School of Dentistry. Corktown Café offers grill items, hot entrees, fresh baked desserts, a fresh salad bar, a variety of to go options and plenty of snacks.

6) The Riverfront Café on Riverfront Campus

The Riverfront Café is located on the first floor in the School of Law. Riverfront

features hot grill items, deli sandwiches, chips, snacks and beverages.
